Scope of duties for the position being recruited for:
- As a member of the team, you will have the opportunity to work in a group led by Dr. Kamil Deja, where research focuses on theoretical analysis and the study of the internal mechanisms of state-of-the-art generative models.
- research on issues related to the interpretation and adaptation of models
- Conducting scientific experiments. Analyzing experimental results
- preparing research reports in a timely manner, co-authoring scientific publications
Requirements:
- status as an undergraduate, master's, or doctoral student;
- a good understanding of current issues related to generative models;
- Excellent knowledge of Python and practical experience using the PyTorch, Diffusers, and Transformers libraries;
- highly developed communication skills, including the ability to clearly present research findings and conclusions;
- fluency in English;
Terms of Employment:
- Employment starting October 1, 2026 (or as individually agreed);
- 6-month engagement period (with the option to extend to 24 months);
- a monthly stipend of 1,500–4,500 PLN (depending on the assigned responsibilities);
- in accordance with the provisions of the NCN Regulations (NCN Council Resolutions No. 25/2024 and No. 72/2025);
- flexible working hours under a hybrid work model;
- conducting research as part of an experienced research team;
- participation in academic conferences;
Additional Information
- The IDEAS Research Institute (IB IDEAS) is a state-run research and scientific institution operating under the Act on Research Institutes and a regulation of the Council of Ministers. The goal of IB IDEAS is to develop and apply advanced technologies—in particular artificial intelligence—in key areas of security, defense, the economy, and public administration. The Institute’s mission is to strengthen Poland’s technological sovereignty, increase the country’s resilience to digital threats, and support the economy’s transformation toward innovation, automation, and digitization.

- The competition for research fellowships will be conducted in accordance with the Regulations on the Awarding of Research Fellowships in Research Projects Funded by the National Science Center (Appendix to NCN Council Resolution No. 25/2024 of March 4, 2024).
- Contest Results: Submitted applications will be reviewed for both formal and substantive requirements. Selected candidates will be invited to participate in the recruitment process (conducted online), which will include, among other things, an interview. Based on the ranking list, the candidate with the highest score will be recommended for the doctoral position. If that candidate declines the offer, the Committee will recommend the next person on the ranking list. Candidates will be notified of the competition results by email immediately after the competition is concluded. A prerequisite for receiving the scholarship is that the candidate attain the status of a doctoral student at the Doctoral School.
